We design climate change and biodiversity strategies for private sector and government land holders alike.

Undertake environmental and economic feasibility studies, spatial analysis and modelling to assess project viability.

We research species and ecosystems to identify biodiversity of high conservation value to the area.

Then design land management strategies outlining project activity and management schedules for registration with state and federal programs such as the Australian Carbon Energy Regulator Emissions Reduction Fund.

We provide technical advice, monitoring and progress reporting during implementation.

We assist land holders increase climate change resilience, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve biodiversity and water management.

Ultimately improve productivity and diversify income through the generation of high quality Australian Carbon Credits.

What we do.

The Nature Based Solutions Framework incorporates 8 overarching criteria:

  • Address Problems.

It might sound obvious but ultimately the solution needs to be designed to address environmental challenges unique to your circumstances. Challenges that are often compounding and increasing over time. We work with you to identify them and tailor integrated solutions, with clearly defined outcomes and ability to track your progress over over time so that you can adapt your approach over time.

  • Consider broader context.

Scale is important. We develop solutions informed by their broader environmental, social and economic context. Local issues like salinity and drought are often driven by broader drivers like climate change or catchment clearing. We review programs operating at these broader scales and ensure your solutions are informed by and consistent with these, maximizing outcomes while avoiding wasted effort.

  • Environmental benefits

The vast majority of human commerce is based upon natural capital. It makes sense to invest in your natural capital like the water, soil and biodiversity you depend upon. We take a full inventory of the natural capital found on your property and the impacts that are eroding it. We identify natural solutions to help you rebuild this capital for environmentally beneficial outcomes.

  • Economic benefits.

What separates nature based solutions from other approaches is that by they are both environmentally and financially positive. We develop whole of farm solutions that improve sustainability and while restoring natural forest. This results in improved drought tolerance, reduced soil erosion, increased populations of native pollinators, saving you money and diversifying your income streams through Carbon Offsets and other programs.

  • Risk mitigation.

By closely assessing the risk profile of various proposed activities, we help you make decisions regarding implementation. This process helps you to identify risks that might pose to much of a threat to acheiving outcomes and identify mitigation to reduce these risks to As Low As Reasonably Practical.

  • Optimization.

Undertaking a risk assessment helps optimize a strategy in achieving primary goals and secondary benefits, with no unfair restrictions and limits on tradeoffs. This avoids a situation where the solution causes more problems then they solved or unfairly impacts on your own or neighboring properties

  • Clear outcomes.

Nature based solutions are explicit in intended environmental, economic and social outcomes. They define indicators that enable you to track status over time and can be adapted to changing circumstances.

  • Science based.

Importantly nature based solutions are informed by cold hard quantitative science. Be it restoring native vegetation, waterways, biodiversity and or some other element of the ecosystem we apply strategies based in contemporary knowledge. We then ensure ourcomes are shared with others
